New Vice-Chancellor at the Swedish Defence University

Porträtt Robert EgnellToday, 1 April, Professor Robert Egnell takes office as the new Vice-Chancellor at the Swedish Defence University.

Robert Egnell  is Professor of Leadership and, until now, Head of the Department of Security, Strategy and Leadership at the Swedish Defence University. Engell has great international experience. He recieved a Ph.D in War Studies, in 2008, at King’s College, London. Between 2012-2015 he was a Visiting Professor and Director of Teaching in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University. He’s also Senior Fellow with Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security.  Until June 2007 he was an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Political Science at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where he taught International Relations, Conflict Management and Political Science. Dr. Egnell has also worked as Senior Researcher at the Swedish Defence Research Institute (FOI) where he focused his research on african security, statebuilding, peace support operations and civil-military relations.
