The influx of international scholars is crucial for Stockholm’s universities

Last night a reception was held in Stockholm City Hall, where international scholars at Stockholm universities, and their partners, were invited. The 180 guests were warmly welcomed to Stockholm by the President of the Stockholm City Council, Ms Cecilia Brinck and the Director of Innovation in Stockholm, Mr Gunnar Björkman. They were followed by Professor Lars Strannegård, President of the Stockholm School of Economics, as well as chairman of the Stockholm Academic Forum who spoke of the importance of academic mobility and what the influx of international researchers means to Stockholm.

In connection with the reception, the 2018 International SDCN Talent of the Year Award was awarded for the first time. Lili Wang was the winner for this the very first time. Read the winning motivation and about the three other nominees here.
