SUMMARY:Early Autumn Hike & BBQ
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a chill Saturday hike at Frösviken National Park. We’ll meet at Ropsten and take the 10:00 AM ferry to Frösviken\, passing several small islands along the way. There will be time for a fika on the boat. \nOnce we arrive\, we’ll hike the Frösviksrundan Trail (7.1–7.5 km\, red-marked\, ~2 hours)\, which is mostly easy to moderate. The trail passes through forests\, by lakes\, and over hills. Notable stops include Kvarnberget\, with its views over the bay\, Lindskogen’s 300-year-old lime trees\, and Tegelbrukshagen\, an area with a history of clay and brick making. \nDuring the hike\, we will be accompanied by Vlad\, explaining everything about mushrooms. You’ll have the chance to learn how to identify mushrooms\, and possibly pick a few to grill later at the BBQ. \nAfter the hike\, we’ll take the ferry to Tranholmen island for an optional lunch BBQ. Please bring your own food and a bit more to share for the grill; some basics will be provided. You could also continue the ferry for an early return to Stockholm. \nSchedule\n10:00 – Meet at Ropsten Ferry Terminal (bring your SL card/ticket)\n10:10 – Ferry ride and fika\n10:50 – Arrive at Frösviken\, start hike\n12:56 – Ferry to Tranholmen or continue to Stockholm for early return.\n13:25 – Option to BBQ at Tranholmen\, Lärkstigen 74\, bring your favorite food.\n15:25 – Ferry to Stockholm \nWhat to Bring\n• Hiking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing\n• Water and snacks\, fika for the ferry ride\n• Food for the BBQ \nMeeting Point\nRopsten Ferry Terminal (look for the SDCN group) \nThis event is organized by the SDCN Ambassadors and open to all SDCN members and their families.
