Now’s your chance to learn more about how Jobbsprånget works and how to apply! \nJobbsprånget is Sweden’s largest internship program for newcomer academics. Since 2016\, they have connected over 4\,300 foreign talents with over 700 participating employers. 7 out of 10 of participants get a job. \nJobbsprånget is a four-month internship program targeted at people born outside of Europe with a degree (bachelor or higher) in engineering\, IT\, architecture\, science\, pharmacy\, business/finance\, HR or communication. \nA Jobbsprånget internship will speed up the process of entering the Swedish labor market\, and gives newcomers a chance to show their potential. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a relaxed and social Sunday hike around beautiful Kottlasjön on Lidingö\, just outside Stockholm! \nHike: We’ll walk a 4.6 km loop around the lake at a chill pace\, enjoying nature\, conversation\, and fresh air. The route is family-friendly and kid-friendly\, so everyone is welcome. SUMMARY:Walk in Skogskykogården
DESCRIPTION:Skogskyrkogården\, “The Woodland Cemetery”\, was created between 1917 and 1940 by the architects Gunnar Asplund and Sigurd Lewerentz. On a pine-covered ridge\, they created a sacred outdoor space with several small chapels that blend in with nature. The architects designed the entire cemetery\, from the landscape to the smallest lamp. The architects’ idea with the site was to let the buildings and environment become a whole\, with nature at its center. \nToday\, it is globally considered one of the most important creations of modern architecture. The Skogskyrkogården was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994. We will take a walk through the highlights of the park. \nOn the weekend of Allhelgonahelgen (All Saints’ Weekend) the entire cemetery will be beautifully illuminated by thousands of candles in remembrance of loved ones. \nJoin us for a stroll across the site and we can enjoy the atmosphere. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening photo walk through Stockholm’s beautiful streets and landscapes. Together\, we’ll explore the city’s vibrant vibe\, from its scenic corners to its lively street life. \nBring along your camera if you have one\, but don’t worry\, phone cameras work just as well! This walk is all about enjoying the city\, sharing perspectives\, and capturing Stockholm’s charm through our lenses. \nSDCN Ambassadors will meet the group at Kungsträdgården before we set off. SUMMARY:Early Autumn Hike & BBQ
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a chill Saturday hike at Frösviken National Park. We’ll meet at Ropsten and take the 10:00 AM ferry to Frösviken\, passing several small islands along the way. There will be time for a fika on the boat. \nOnce we arrive\, we’ll hike the Frösviksrundan Trail (7.1–7.5 km\, red-marked\, ~2 hours)\, which is mostly easy to moderate. The trail passes through forests\, by lakes\, and over hills. Notable stops include Kvarnberget\, with its views over the bay\, Lindskogen’s 300-year-old lime trees\, and Tegelbrukshagen\, an area with a history of clay and brick making. \nDuring the hike\, we will be accompanied by Vlad\, explaining everything about mushrooms. You’ll have the chance to learn how to identify mushrooms\, and possibly pick a few to grill later at the BBQ. \nAfter the hike\, we’ll take the ferry to Tranholmen island for an optional lunch BBQ. Please bring your own food and a bit more to share for the grill; some basics will be provided. You could also continue the ferry for an early return to Stockholm. \nSchedule\n10:00 – Meet at Ropsten Ferry Terminal (bring your SL card/ticket)\n10:10 – Ferry ride and fika\n10:50 – Arrive at Frösviken\, start hike\n12:56 – Ferry to Tranholmen or continue to Stockholm for early return.\n13:25 – Option to BBQ at Tranholmen\, Lärkstigen 74\, bring your favorite food.\n15:25 – Ferry to Stockholm \nWhat to Bring\n• Hiking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing\n• Water and snacks\, fika for the ferry ride\n• Food for the BBQ \nMeeting Point\nRopsten Ferry Terminal (look for the SDCN group) \nThis event is organized by the SDCN Ambassadors and open to all SDCN members and their families.
